As We Forge Ahead Into The Darkness

By Evan Sanders

It's a brief moment.

There's this little moment that comes upon you like a whisper in the dark. It's just there for a second and then it can be gone. But oh how important it is.

Run away or run forward.

The challenges that face us continue on no matter what. They will continue to test you daily if you are designed to rise to the greatest heights.

But there is a big decision to be made.

Do you run?

Or do you fight?

This moment tested me only a few days ago and was waiting for me to break. But I didn't. Rather, I faced the moment head on and forged ahead into the challenges that were due to come.

But how do you make that decision to forge ahead?

How could peace come out of such a test?

Because once you make a decision to face your fears instead of run from them you become something far greater than who you are right now. You don't run scared. You don't surrender. Instead, you face what you were destined to face.

So forge ahead.

Don't quit when it gets hard.

In a sense, you can almost see the Captain of a ship deciding to head straight into the challenging waters and urging his men to keep their faith. Similarly, you have to do this with your fears.

Many times we will lose our focus and momentum.

We fail to stick according to plan because we are discouraged by a lack of movement forward.

But with facing our fears, a renewed sense of purpose arrives.

And when your purpose comes back, there is an endless fire inside raging to keep you moving ahead.

We must continuously strive to be the greatest versions of ourselves despite the fact that we come up short over and over again. We have to see beyond who we are now to keep ourselves growing and developing.

Yes failure is part of growing.

But there should be pride in the defeat.

Take seriously pride in your endless persistence.

Believe in yourself enough to keep trying despite failing over and over again.

The scars you carry and the victories you have had define you as a great soul that has never stood in the stands wondering "what if?"

The ones who work in the dark of night are our heroes. They are the ones who constantly forge ahead no matter how bad things may have been.
