Who Is Pastor David Oloo?

By Janet Moore

God anoints a special person to complete his mission and deliver his message to every generation. This is what God has done with Pastor David Oloo. He has called him for the people of Homa Bay in Kenya. He draws strength from the message of the second greatest commandment which instructs Christians to love their neighbors as they love themselves.

David has obeyed the voice of the Lord and gone forth to establish a home for orphaned children. His efforts between 2005 and 2008 resulted in a simple home that can accommodate children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Under the guidance of his father, Bishop Nashon, he has offered these children a place full of love to call home. The demand has grown over the years forcing him to expand inevitably.

A growing demand has been pushing the resources available to this shepherd beyond reasonable limits. More children need to be accommodated while the older ones require more resources to cater for their needs. The management of the home has been frantically looking for resources to ensure that children under its care do not sleep hungry or walk naked. This is why they have to reach out to well wishers for assistance.

The number of children in the orphanage has been rising steadily and has gone beyond 25. It is no longer easy to effectively cater for their needs without straining or to guarantee a future for them. The need to assist families bearing the burden of adopting children orphaned by HIV/AIDS has been pronounced by the need to end the cycle of poverty in these families. This servant of God has taken up the responsibility.

Pastor David dedicated his youth to taking in these orphans and offering them food, shelter and clothing. This is what God has called him to do. He relies on the support of well wishers to accomplish the goal of loving his neighbors as he loves himself. He has served for many years as a senior pastor at Christ Faith Evangelical Church. Through his leadership, this ministry has achieved a lot. It is in the process of transforming in order to serve a growing congregation in need of God better.

In an attempt to serve God and the congregation better, Christ Faith Evangelical Church has taken a new route and is being referred to as Good Shepherd House of Worship. The servants of God seek to provide a place where worshipers can encounter Christ more closely. The change in name has been inspired by the command given to Saul to become Paul.

Homa Bay is in the western part of Kenya, a country that is endowed with ethnic and religious diversity. The people of the country are incredibly hopeful and kindhearted. Their beauty is enhanced by that of their landscape. However, it is impossible for them to experience this beauty and fully express their kindness under the burden of poverty and sickness. Pastor Oloo seeks to transform this gloom into cheers with the assistance of well wishers.

The ministry has heavily relied on donor funding, resources whose use has been incredibly transparent. A large population has benefited through the support of this servant of God. Donors have expressed admiration of the progress and prudent management of these projects. It is through well wishers that these lives have been lifted.
