Differences Between A Trainer And Animal Communicator

By Dorothy Brown

There are many different positions when it comes to working with animals. For example, one can be a zoologist, trainer or pet owner simply wishing to teach a dog new tricks. Although, there are also others such as an Animal Communicator. While all are closely related, the latter is often considered more intuitive or psychic.

While this is the case, not all have the ability to communicate vocally. The most common animals with which humans communicate on a regular basis are apes, birds, cats, dogs, lions and tigers which are also the most vocal. Generally, other animals communicate by the ability to run, hide or scatter. Depending on environment, an animal might react in different ways with regards to a human counterpart.

In most cases, interactions between people and animals reflect some level of vocal communication related to a mood, need or want. While this is the case, human tone can also be important particularly with regards to scolding a dog or other pet for bad or negative behavior. In addition, body language can also communicate praise or disappointment with regards to this type of communication.

At the same time, it can often take a great deal of time and patience when training a pet. While, most other animals are kept or are living in some aspect of a natural habitat. As such, it is often the animals teaching the humans new and interesting things in these cases. Still, there is a need for someone whom can understand when these animals are in pain or in need attention.

Another area in which these professionals work is in the horse racing field. In most cases, trainers are often the one person the animal sees on a daily or weekly basis. Depending on the age, level of training and preparation necessary, it can often take weeks or months to prepare a horse for an upcoming event. After which, when a horse places or wins a race, the trainer often feels an overwhelming level of success.

Repetitive phrases have become popular in books, movies and television with regards to getting birds to talk. While this is the case, it should be noted that birds such as parrots have also shown the ability to carry on intellectual conversations. In addition, dolphins and whales both have very distinct and intelligent methods of communicating with humans.

While many research programs and projects may seem new with regards to human to animal communication, the concept actually found fame in the late 18th and early 19th century. However, rather than acknowledge this ability of communication between species, the animals were sensationalized and placed in circus acts or other forms of entertainment. As such, only recently has society began taking the prospect that animals and humans can indeed talk to one another more seriously.

One example of a tool currently being used to prove that dogs can communicate is now being researched in Japan. The Bow-Lingual communication device is a machine being used to decipher different phrases based on different breeds and mix-breed dogs' barks. The device and methods used are mostly based on an Animal Emotion Analysis System designed at a Japanese Laboratory by Dr. Matsumi Suzuki. If successful, it is most likely a device that will become quite popular with dog owners and trainers in the future.
