How The Amazing Skateboard For Disabled Works

By James Howard

If PWDs can only sit and think wistfully of the things they could have done on skateboards, they now have friends performing for them. It is an idea that started out as a way to give young PWDs some more happiness. It has since bloomed into an advocacy for a lot of young skateboarders, their families and their communities in California.

The first thing that was done was organizing a founding group of skateboarders. Their name became Skateboard For Disabled San Fernando, a clear definition of goals and the recipients that they seek to serve. Through skateboarding events, they make people aware of PWD needs and encourage them to open their hearts to these less fortunate.

The advocacy has taken on the dimensions of multiple orientation today. The skateboarders seek to help any organization or group of disabled people in their own unique way. Thus, their play becomes something more important, and the time they spend having fun is also a way to get donations for charity.

The targets for their sponsorship are now varied, from people with autism to disabled veterans. As these more unfortunate of brethren think of many things most have as normal parts of daily living as luxuries, the not profit charity seeks to provide them with these. The simplest of activities for the group, which is skateboarding, becomes the vehicle for uplifting people in need.

Youngsters today have become more aware, seeing more things that are needed for specific sectors of the populace. This cause also gives them a special kind of relevance and importance in society. And there can be no better way to achieve this than doing it with the thing they love doing.

The work has now grown to include many folks from all over the state, like the mentioned communities, friends and families that have come to believe in the cause. This advocacy is also familiar, which makes it the most effective way to deliver services to the needed beneficiaries. These are also the honored invitees to all the skateboarding games and events put up by the group.

Missions that are accomplished with the spirit of fun have come and gone, but this new one has a very unique spin. Before the organization was put up, nobody had any idea how adherents of slacker philosophy could do more important work. The thought has no vanished, supplanted by the appreciation of this great new work.

The city San Fernando California is very fortunate to be where the group is most active, and it is capable of accessing more recruits in the state. Plans are being made for making more intensive events as well as ramping up their charity giving activities, the belief being happiness should be given now. The beneficiaries can have all sorts of things given them, not the least of which is spiritual happiness.

Uplift can be as simple as watching them do backflips and somersaults with their boards. It will go on to be dramatic, with the addition of things, services or any vital need that are given to the sponsored individuals. Simplicity then becomes a grace that everyone participating can feel.
