A Guide On How To Keep Mice Out Of RV

By Ruth Wood

Human residences are likely to attract a lot of other living creatures such as pests. This is because the human lifestyle allows other living things to depend on it. Among the things that attract them is the availability of food as a well as an already established shelter. However, some of these creatures end up causing a lot of discomfort to the residents. This article outlines a number of tips on how to keep mice out of RV.

What attracts mice the most is the availability of food. They can therefore be easily eliminated by getting rid of this food and ensuring they have nothing to feed on. The most appropriate way of undertaking this is ensuring that all the waste food is well disposed. The storage areas should also be well closed to avoid their access. Sealed dustbins are very effective for disposing the left overs.

Despite all the efforts to dispose all the food waste, some may end up falling on the ground. Others may end up spilling in the storage cabinets without the knowledge of the inhibitors. Constant cleaning is therefore advised. This should be carried out at least weekly. The cleaning should concentrate on areas that are known to attract dirt, especially the kitchen and dining area.

There must exist some openings in the RV for the mice to find their way in. These openings may include broken drainage pipes, sockets just to mention a few. To ensure that these openings to not serve as an entrance for the rodents, they should be completely sealed up once they are noticed. Broken items should also be replaced to avoid them ending up as the residence of the rats.

Another tip is avoiding places where there is likeliness of mice existence. This includes bushy areas as well as areas serving as dump sites. The trailers should therefore not be packed on such areas. It is also wise to first clear the parking lot, especially, if it has not been used for a long time before making use of it.

Traps are an option when the rodents are already present in the RV. These traps are designed in a way that they can easily catch the mice. They should be placed in areas where they mostly hide or pass through. The traps should however be handled with care to avoid causing accidents and should be avoided when small children are present.

Rodent poison has been among the oldest method to fight them. The poison is placed on the foods that the rats feed on. It is made in a way that it attracts them. This should be an option where the mice infestation seems to be beyond control. Constant cleaning, however, has to be carried to eradicate the already dead ones.

An effect caused by these inhibitors is eating clothes. They will therefore hide in closets or suitcases where clothes are being kept. To keep them out in such a case, moth balls should be used. These balls are made to emit a pungent smell that repels them away. They greatly help in eradicating them and can also be placed in drawers and under the pillows.
