How Possible Is Seawater Hydraulic Fracturing

The Earth is created to be abundant in seawater. As a matter of fact, 70 percent of this planets surface is composed of salt water. Because of its abundance, many are trying to find ways on how to benefit from it. Others would engage in fishing and other means of getting the treasures underwater. One of them might be hydraulic fracturing.

One way that have seen to be possible is the fracturing. This seems to sound a bit difficult but seawater hydraulic fracturing is possible. Most ocean is very deep and mysterious in many ways. The species underneath it are still not yet discovered. But aside from those, researchers have found out the great basin of oil and gas can be found under sea floor.

For common people, the word hydraulic fracturing is something that can give them a question mark. To clear this out, its a method used to go underground and get the oils or gas stored. This is not an easy thing to do since there are various elements that must be given attention. The machinery used are also very huge that hundreds of individuals must assist.

There are two industries that can benefit from it. The first one is the oil industry. Many knows that the fuel they use in their car and other machines extracted in the ground. This is the major reason why the prices of oil can go high because its process would really take a long time to used by the citizens. This industry usually do it in freshwater.

Another industry is for the gas. The gas are highly flammable and could really take a lot of processes in acquiring. The difficult thing about this is its not visible. Great tanks and other container should be used. Aside from that, the worker should keep in mind that the safety of themselves and even the people living near must not be ignored.

Many are wondering if what is the advantage of having the fracturing in seawater. The best thing about it is, no water will surely be wasted. Instead of doing it in freshwater which will be used for drinking, seawater is more easy to waste. The contamination will not be great since it can cover the bigger portion of its body.

Even if there are good things in doing it, engineers still prefer it to be done in freshwater. They say that doing it a place where pH level could be near to average can lessen the effort of extraction. Workers will no longer worry on what will be the effect of water to the operations and most of all, chemical reaction will not be altered.

Its not only because of the cost but it could also be because of the cost. When you are dealing with salinity, the tools or machinery used must be of great quality. Because of this, the cost will surely rise up. This will not be beneficial to any investor since it may level up on its selling price. A business with the same amount for capital and profit will not boom.

After knowing all these things, it would be proper to balance everything. For now, the method in seawater is a bit hard and would really need further studies. If it will be 5 years from now, there will be a big tendency that everything will look simple and fast since the technology is getting better each day.
